I promise you I will be doing a recap of my trip but today I have something important to share with you.
My girl Bethany over at Basically Mrs Behaving posted about this awesome thing her Youth Pastor does to help out the kids in the community who do not have money to get school supplies. I wanted to spread the word and help her out by posting her post on my blog. If you can do anything to help you can leave me a comment and I will get you in touch with Bethany or you can get a hold of her through her blog!
What hubby and I got last night at tar-jay! Last Sunday our youth pastor got up to speak about a new way to help our children. His wife just finished her first year as a Elementary school teacher. She was saddened by the amount of children that came to school without school supplies.Who sends their kids to school without a pencil?I originally went to college to become a teacher.Education is a really big deal to me.[Not to mention I am a super big nerd.] Our youth pastor asked us to find it in our heart to donate to the cause. His goal is to collect 100 backpacks filled with school supplies for children in need.Shawn and I were at Target last night and we got all of that stuff for $25!I would love to fill more but, with Shawn being out of work, we are saving as much as we can. I was hoping to be able to reach out to my blogging community. If you would be willing to donate supplies and/or funds to make this happen please contact me.Have used backpacks you need to get rid of?Want to send me supplies?I’ll go get them myself if you want to donate; any amount would be amazing. Please circulate this post as well through social media.I would really hate for these children to go to the first day of class unprepared! Thanks so much!🙂
So if there is ANYTHING you can do please help them out! Repost this, donate some money, donate some supplies. Anything and everything will help!
