OMG if ya ever go to Brooklyn you HAVE GOT TO GO there!
It has got to be one of the best pizzas I have EVER had in my life.
Saturday morning I was up and ready to go by 6am. We headed into Brooklyn and got to the site with plenty of time before the run. We walked around all the tents and then lined up for the run.
There were so many people. They did the run in waves we were in the 5th wave and there were easily 2 more behind us. We were off and running.
Let me just throw this out there this was the first time I have ran since the 8K back in April. I didn’t “train” for this run one step and I have to say I ran the entire thing and I felt great! I couldn’t tell you how long it took us because this was not a timed run and to be honest I didn’t time myself either.
After we were done we went to the truck and tried to clean up as much as we cool. THANK GOD I brought extra clothes and I told Lobster to bring clothes for him. We changed and went to get breakfast. After we ate we hit up Coney Island for a bit since we were in the area. Why not right?
We were not the only color runners with this idea. We saw so many other paint covered people. We all waved at each other as we walked by. It was like we were part of a cult.
From Coney Island we hit the pavement and headed back to NJ. We decided we wanted to stop and pick up some turkey burgers and salad stuff from a local place and as we were walking out someone says to us…
“Hey did you do the Color Run?”
Mind you we were STILL covered in paint and we both had on shirts that said The Color Run.
I wanted to say no we like to throw paint on each other and walk around town like this.
I didn’t though. I bit my tongue.
People. Ha! I tell ya!
Overall we had a BLAST at the NYC Color Run and can not wait for Saturday for the NJ one!
