How is everyone? How was your weekend? Ours was a little unconventional but that is okay with us! This past Thursday and Friday wound up being our “weekend” which worked out rather nicely even with the snow. Wednesday night I got home from work knowing that I would not have to get up at 4:30am as usual since we were slated to get up to a foot of snow. We woke up Thursday to a solid 10 inches of snow and it was still coming down. I decided that I would take advantage of the snow day and get a workout in and get some business work done. I also got to spend some quality time with Mr. Big Truck which is always a good thing. Thursday afternoon I got word that my job was going to be closed on Friday as well. Hello long weekend! That thought was quickly shot down because then I also got word that we were working Saturday and Monday.
Thursday girls decided that they were gonna bum around all day too.
I took advantage of the dreary weather and decided to make some home-made sauce, spinach turkey meatballs and chicken sausage. Nothing is better on a snow day than home-made sauce. Daddy would be proud! I also thought it would be a nice treat for Mr. Big Truck after being out in the elements for over an hour to come in and smell dinner simmering away. It also gave him a day off from cooking since he is awesome and cooks all the time. I am spoiled!
Can I just tell you we smelled this simmering all day and by the time it was dinner time we were ready to dig in. SO GOOD!
We were super lazy all day but it was nice. We got to just spend a lot of quality down time together which we enjoy. We also know that this is gonna be something that is going to be hard to come by after the baby is born so we take advantage of it while we can. During our let’s be lazy day I even got to control the TV remote. Typically Mr. Big Truck will have one of his nature shows on like Surviving Alaska, or Appalachian Outlaws, Swamp Wars or Survivorman, however I decided that we needed to watch Bring It On: Fight to the Finish. Mr. Big Truck was a trooper and watched it with me.
Friday was Valentine’s Day. We woke up and exchanged gift. It was pretty funny because apparently we are so in tune with each other that we both ordered gifts from the same place!
We both loved our gifts from each other. The card that Mr. Big Truck got me was so sweet and I know that he loved his card. He may or may not have gotten teary eyed.
By the after noon after I got a workout in and showered we decided we needed to get out of the house for a bit and decided to go to the mall to walk around. We did some shopping for Little Miss, and our selves. Then we headed to dinner. Mr. Big Truck made us reservations a few weeks ago at this little cafe by our house. Dinner was delicious!
After dinner we went home, I went through some clothes to take with us on our upcoming babymoon and business trip we are going on and I got ready for work because I had to be in at 7am Saturday morning.
It may not have been a conventional weekend so to speak but we made the best of it and enjoyed our time together!
