Weekend Fun

Hey Friends!

Happy Monday. Happy St. Patrick’s Day if that’s your thing.

How was everyone’s weekend? Ours was good! Productive too!

Friday night started off with Mr. Big Truck and I having an impromptu date night. We had dinner at Applebee’s and then hit up Michaels. Mr. Big Truck is in the middle of working on the nursery and he wanted to get some ideas for it and wound up having the idea of doing a stencil around the room. I can’t wait to see it all come together. I also decided I was going to get my DIY on and picked up some stuff. I’m not too sure how much of what I am doing I will be sharing as a lot of it has to do with her name and we have decided that we are not going to be sharing her name on the blog but anything that does not have anything to do with her name I will share when it’s done.

Saturday morning we were up and out early. We registered for 3 “Get ready to have your world rocked by a baby classes” and our first was Infant Care Class. We had to be there for 9am. I have to say it was informative. Did you know that in New Jersey children under the age of 13 are supposed to be in booster seats and should be sitting in the back seat. Last I knew it was 8 or 80 pounds for them to be in boosters. Overall I have to say I am glad we went to the class. I have to say that the baby they gave us was rather creepy looking.

The instructor Judy was very informative and helpful. I am looking forward to the other classes we are taking.

After class we went home to relax a bit and I made dinner while Mr. Big Truck did some odds and ends around the house. Saturday night we had small group at our Pastors house. This was the first time we went and we had a great time. Unfortunately I got some terrible news but I couldn’t have been around a more supportive group of people when it happened. We stopped the study we were doing and went to the Lord in prayer. Powerful. I am not going to go into detail about what I found out but if you are the praying kind please keep my friends Jeana, Troy and their family in your prayers. We wound up staying and talking with everyone after the study till about 10pm. Needless to say we had a good time and are looking forward to getting together with everyone else down the road.

Sunday morning we decided to go to the later service at church which was perfect because I got sleep in a bit. After church my mom, my niece and I went to the bakery to order the cake for my shower. When I got home I got my Pump on hoping that it would help my energy levels. Not so much. But I am glad I got a workout in! Later in the afternoon Mr. Big Truck and I decided to go back to Michaels because I had yet another DIY idea I wanted to do for our maternity pictures. While we were there we decided we wanted to go to A C Moore and see what they had too. When we got home I spend a good 2 hours going at my DIY projects while Mr. Big Truck continued to work in the nursery.

Here we are facing Monday and I am back at work and Mr. Big Truck is still working away in the nursery. He sent me a progress picture and man it’s looking good! It sure has made a drastic improvement since this picture was taken.

We were hoping to have it totally done and have the furniture assembled and in before the shower but things happened and that is not going to happen. No worries because it should all be together by next weekend! Exciting!

PS I am 29 weeks already?!?! SAY WHAT?!?

  Hugs, Nikki

I can not imagine keeping a 13 yr old in a booster. But safety first! I never had a theme for Allyson’s nursery. We rented at the time and they had a “white wall” policy. That’s no fun. So when we bought our first home, she got to pick the color. She picked a bright deep purple. Do you know how hard that was cover again when selling the house? LOL Have fun crafting!!

I know Mr. Big Truck and I were both shocked at that one as well!

Sounds like a great class – I have to be honest, I don’t think I can imagine seeing a 12 year-old in a booster seat haha – talk about an ego-killer!! haha

Will you be sharing pictures of the nursery? I completely understand if you don’t 🙂 I just love looking at stuff like that because it shows the creativity. And I lack in that area lol

I am not sure yet. I think we will share some pics but anything with her name on it we are not going to share at all. We want to keep her name off the blog.
