Well friends I have great news. Little Miss has successfully made it through her first of many flights. We actually head out again next month.
Anyway, July 9th was the day that we would venture to Dallas for some amazing training thanks to AdvoCare. After talking to some friends about flying with a infant I decided that I would make sure that we had formula, bottles and a binky with us for the flight.
Grandma and Little Miss chillin out in the airport before our flight.
I dressed Little Miss in her pj’s for the flight since we wouldn’t be in Dallas until way after bed time. All was well and good. We got through check in and security no problem. We decided to check her car seat and her stroller at the ticket counter and I wore her through the airport. It made going through security so much easier. Once we got through security we ha a little time to kill before our first flight.
We go on the plane and it was time to sit. Seriously we sat on the run way a good hour to an hour and a half because the weather going west was not the best. Now normally I wouldn’t care about being delayed but 1 we had Little Miss with us and she runs hot to begin with. Since we were just sitting on the runway the air conditioning was not running and Little Miss was getting hotter as time went by. At one point it had gotten so warm in the plane that I had to strip the poor little Monkey down to her diaper. Now I know you are probably thinking why didn’t I have a onesie on her? Well like I said she runs hot to begin with so I don’t typically have a onesie and her pj’s on her at the same time. Oh well! 2. we had a connecting flight in St. Louis and I was not sure if we were going to make it. FINALLY we took off and all was well. I gave Little Miss a bottle on take off and she was fine. She took her binky on landing and again we had no issues. Thankfully!
Once we landed in St. Louis I checked my phone to see the status of our next flight. In bright BOLD green letters I saw BOARDING. Great. We got off the plane and the mad dash to the next flight started. Mind you last year when I went to Dallas this happened as well. I was not aware at the time but South West Airlines was holding the flight because there were so many people needing to make the connecting flight. I wore Little Miss, Mr. Big Truck had the diaper bag and our other carry on and my mom had her purse and my purse. My poor mom had foot surgery back in May and I noticed she was limping through the airport. Trooper let me tell you!
Thankfully we made our connecting flight but since we were flying South West there is no assigned seating. Mom and I got two seats next to each other while Mr. Big Truck sat a few rows up from us. Why the lady in the 3rd seat in the row that we were in did not offer to give up her seat so we could all sit together I do not know but it is water under the bridge now. Again on the take off I gave Little Miss a bottle and then she slept the entire flight. She wound up sleeping right through landing so I didn’t even bother to offer her the binky.
Once we landed and got our luggage we made out way out to the waiting limo that AdvoCare hooked us up with and off to the hotel we went. Mom went with us to watch Little Miss while Mr. Big Truck and I attended an amazing 30 hour training including an amazing tour of corporate. AdvoCare took out all the stops and poured into us. We heard from CEO and VP Richard and Sherry Wright, Mike Wade, and the man himself Ron Reynolds along with Deb Fisher and other amazing AdvoCare staff. The training we got was off the hook and we walked out having an even greater respect and love for this company.
I can not wait to head back out next month!
