Hope everyone is doing well. I have been better myself. Well, no I am good but #babybigtruck on the other hand has seen better days.
Over the weekend I had noticed that she has started to cough. Nothing terrible and it was not even a consistent cough but I knew that it was the beginning of something. We went about our business and I kept an eye on her. Monday morning when I dropped her off at school I had told her teacher that she started coughing over the weekend and to keep an eye on her. Monday after work I went to pick her up and when I got there her teachers told me that as the day went on her cough got a little more prevalent. I picked her up from her crib at school and I immediately heard rattling in her chest as she was breathing and a slight wheeze. When I got her in the truck I called the doctor’s office and the answering service answered. I left a message for the doctor and a few minutes later the office called me and told me to bring her in. I get to the doctor’s office and the check her out and sure enough we have a slight ear infection in her right ear and a respiratory issue going on. They gave her a nebulizer treatment in the office and told me that I would have to give her a treatment every 4 hours around the clock for the next two days and that she can not go to school. Just a side note for myself we made it just shy of 8 months without and major sicknesses!
She was also put on antibiotics for 5 days for the ear infection. Poor thing. When we left the doctor’s office I took her home and then ran out to ShopRite to get her prescriptions filled thankfully they had a nebulizer machine in stock. When I got home she was wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. So much for 7:30pm bedtime. She wound up staying up till about 9 when she finally passed out.
Yesterday she was a hot mess. I am talking leaky faucet nose -clear thankfully!- and terrible cough and stage 5 spider monkey clingy. I kept up with her treatments every 4 hours like the doctor told me to and by 8pm last night she was sleeping. She was up by 11 and back to sleep by 11:30 and up again at 2am and decided she needed to hang out till 3:30am. Her and I set up camp in the living room and finally passed out till 7am. Here it is 9:30am and she is napping. I can not wait for her to feel better and get back into her normal routine. I am super thankful that even though she is sick she is still in good spirits and smiling.
Here is to hoping my little monkey will start to feel better and get back to regularly scheduled programming.
