The Sickness Continues…

Happy Saturday night friends!

Things are wild and crazy here. It’s 7:30pm and #babybigtruck is sleeping and Mr. Big Truck just went to bed himself.

Why is everyone sleeping so early? Well, #babybigtruck always goes to be at 7:30 so that is nothing new and she is sick again and Mr. Big Truck is exhausted. He has been working some crazy hours lately.

So yeah #babybigtruck is sick again. This poor kid just can not catch a break! So remember back in the middle of January I was talking about how she was sick for two weeks? Well that round of junk lasted another two weeks! WHAT?!?! Yup. So she wound up with an ear infection, bronchiolitis, viral pneumonia, stomach virus. She went through two rounds of antibiotics, was on a nebulizer and wound up with a really nasty diaper rash because of the second round of antibiotics. We also wound up in the ER one night because her breathing was so bad. Needless to say January was a rough month. She finished her last round of antibiotics on January 31st. We had a night out and she went to school for a week without missing a day and then it all changed.

Friday I got out of work and I was starving so I swung by Panera to eat. I figured I would eat and then go pick up #babybigtruck early from school go home and get myself and her ready for Life Group. I ordered my food, got it, sat down and was just about to start eating when my phone rang. The caller ID said “Day Care.” I answer it and I was told that her teachers were concerned with her breathing. I told Miss. Jessica that I was just eating and then I was planning to pick her up early anyway. Miss. Jessica said they just wanted to let me know but they did not think that there was any cause for me to hurry. No problem. I get to school about 20 minutes later and I was watching her from the window and one of her teachers was sitting in the rocker with her trying to get her to take a nap. I could tell immediately that she was not the same kid I had dropped off in the morning. I walked in the room and she immediately started to cry which is not like her. I picked her up and she felt warm to me. We took her temp and it was mild. 99.6. Her eyes were glassy and she was lethargic. When I got out to the truck I called the DR office and they told me to bring her in right away. I at first thought it may have been a reaction to her Hep B shot she got on Thursday but then thinking about it I ruled that out because she has had Hep B before and did not have any reactions and hadn’t had any reactions to any of her shots for that matter. When we got to the Dr. office I felt that she had gotten hotter. When we got into the exam room they took her temp and sure enough she was up to 101.6 wonderful. The Dr. came in and looked at her ears and said that she had an aggressive double ear infection. She gave us a script for another round of antibiotics and she gave her a dose of Advil right in the office to help with the fever. As we were getting ready to walk out of the exam room her other doctor walked be -the Dr. she saw Thursday- she asked why we were there because when we were there on Thursday we were joking that we were gonna try to make it a month before we came back. Opperation fail. So here we are Saturday night she has been fever free since about midnight and she has had 2 doses of her new antibiotic and her diaper rash has reared its ugly head. Girlfriend HATES getting her diaper changed right now not that I can blame her. Her poor lady parts are so read and raw. I feel so bad. While we were at the Dr. I asked about if we should start thinking about tubes for her. I had them when I was younger and from what I understand it was one of the best things my parents did for me. I am not opposed to her having the procedure done if needed. We head back to the Dr. in 10 days and hopefully by then the infection will have cleared. If not then we will probably be making an appointment with a ENT.

I am so over #babybigtruck being sick. I really though we had finally made it to the end of the sickness last week but clearly I was mistaken.

So if you are the praying type please pray for #babybigtruk.

Ps. #babybigtruck will be 9 months tomorrow! Where the heck did that time go?!?!

  Hugs, Nikki
