ENT Round 1

Hey Friends!

Happy First Day of Spring!

Even though it is the first day of spring we are looking at a potential 4-6 inches of snow in these parts. Not cool batman. It is what it is though. The light at the end of the tunnel is here! Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 50’s so that is always a good thing!

So I thought I would do a little update on #babybigruck and her ear situation. As you know, we have been fighting ear infection after ear infection since January. January she had an ear infection, bronchiolitis, and viral pneumonia. February she battled a double ear infection. Now, here we are in March, and we are fighting yet again another ear infection. We are on our 4th round of antibiotics and I hope this is our last.

Monday March 9th we went to her Dr. for her 10 month well visit and we came to find out that she had fluid in her ears, however they were not infected. Tuesday the 10th #babybigtruck and I were leaving for FL, so the Dr gave me a RX to have in hand incase I needed to start her on it. By Wednesday #babybigtruck was pulling at her ear so I called her Dr and they told me to start the RX.

This past Tuesday -St. Patricks Day- I had an appointment for #babybigtruck with a ENT to see what is going on with her. They did this vibration test where they should get an upward sloop on the print out, but when they did it on her they didn’t get any vibration reading at all. The Dr said that he is concerned that her hearing my be affected. He also told me that her ear was yet again infected. We have another appointment in April for a hearing test and then we will see what our next step is.

I am not worried about this. Why? Well, because I know she hears us. I know she hears things around her. She responds when we call her or when there is a loud noise. She hears the “Hot Dog Song” without any problems. I honestly think they didn’t get a reading because of the ear infection and the junk that is in her ears.

I am also not worried because I know God has a plan. I may not know what that plan is right now, but I know He knows what He is doing. In the mean time we are on our 4th round of antibiotics and we pray. We pray for healing. We pray for clear ears. We pray for wisdom for the doctors who are working with us. We pray for understanding. We pray for comfort for #babybigtruck while she is going through this whole ordeal. We pray for patients for Momma and Daddy while we figure out what is wrong if anything is seriously wrong. If you are the praying kind please keep us in your prayers.

  Hugs, Nikki

I had tubes twice as a kid. I feel your pain on the constant rounds of ear aches. 🙁 Luckily, as an adult, I have (knock on wood) had minimal problems with my ears after all the childhood stuff. Hope babybigtruck feels better soon!
