Hope everyone is doing well. We are over here doing our thing after a scare last week. I swear I feel like things just never calm down.
So last Tuesday about 12:30 in the afternoon I get a call from school. Now let me just say that the school calls me when something is wrong like if #babybigtruck gets sick or hurt so I knew this was not going to be a good call. I answer the phone and it was Miss. Joanna. She tells me that #babybigtruck has developed a rash all over her belly, chest, the top of her back and her thighs. Then she continues to tell me that although she is not a doctor it reminds her of chickenpox. WONDERFUL! Needless to say I immediately left work and went right to school. I get #babybigtruck and head home. On my way home I call the doctor and they tell me that I can not bring her in until 6:30pm after all the other patients leave because IF it is chickenpox they don’t want to infect the office. They also give me the “bat phone” number and tell me to call them when I get in the office and that they will bring me in the back door. Fun right?
I get her home and we are chilling out and I notice that her rash starts to chill out a little bit. That is when I start to think that she does not have pox. 6:30 rolls around and we go to the doctor and the doctor says that although the rash is presenting like pox she can not say it is because her rash has not blistered yet. Doctor Mig tells me to keep any eye on her rash and if she blisters to send her photos so she can see how she is doing. We went home #babybigtruck went to bed and we called it a night.
The next morning when #babybigtruck woke up she was rash free! I’m talking TOTALLY rash free. Weird. Right then I KNEW it was not pox. I got her out of bed and we started our day. I gave her a cup of half formula half milk and shortly after she drank it her rash started to come back. That is when Mr. Big Truck and I started talking and my mom happened to call. We told her what happened and my mom threw out the possibility that she may be having a reaction to the milk. Her next cup I gave her just 4 ounces of straight formula expecting her to be fine. Well shortly after she drank her formula surprise the rash was flaring up again. REALLY!?!? Her next cup I gave her 4 straight ounces of milk and alas no more rash flair ups!
It’s been just about a full week now and #babybigtruck has been getting three 8 ounce cups of milk a day and has been rash free! Prior to all this happening we were starting to phase her formula out and we were just trying to finish what we had left in the house. Needless to say that stopped and that stopped QUICK and she is now on only milk.
I did go ahead and make her an allergy testing appointment for today actually. I want to see if we have any other allergies we need to worry about. Thus far I am thinking we should be okay. She has had eggs everyday since she was about 5 or 6 months now and she has also had some peanut butter, almond butter, and a bit of chocolate and no reactions thus far. She has also had fish although we have held off on the shell-fish since Mr. Big Trucks mom is allergic. I will definitely be asking them to check her for that today.
Because we thought she may have had chicken pox I had to put in for an emergency week of vacation. In hindsight it’s been a good thing because I have been able to get more party prep done this week and her birthday present is being delivered tomorrow and someone needs to be home for that.
So yeah that has been the latest adventure with #babybigtruck. I swear never a dull moment in these parts.
