Memorial Day Weekend 2015

Hellllllo friends!

Happy Wednesday. Wrap your head around that it is ALREADY Wednesday! Gotta love short weeks!

How was everyone’s weekend? Ours was great. Nice a relaxing which is always a nice change.

Friday after work I picked up #babybigtruck and we set out for the lake! YES LAKE DAYS ARE BACK! I have a feeling they are numbered but lets not think about that right now.

Saturday morning we got up and lad a lazy morning. I went for a quick 2 mile run while Mr. Big Truck and #babybigtruck had some daddy daughter time. My dad went and got bagels and we literally lounged around all morning. Dad had asked me if I would work no putting some music on pen drives for their cars and while I did that #babybigtruck snuggled on the couch and passed out for almost two hours! That is not like her but it was welcomed. After she got up Dad and Mr. Big Truck worked on installing the new radio we got them for christmas on the boat. While they did that Molly, #babybigtruck and I took a ride to TJ Maxx because Molly wanted to get #babybigtruck something Red White and Blue to wear on Sunday. As we were getting done at TJ Maxx little Molly was just getting off work. Grandma Molly asked her if she had lunch which she did not, so we went to Panera and hung out with her for a bit. Grandma was in her glory because she had her oldest granddaughter and her youngest granddaughter with her. It’s the small things in life.

Saturday night we had dads homemade sauce and meatballs for dinner. YUMMY!

#babybigtruck had to get in on the kitchen action.

Clearly #babybigtruck enjoyed it.

After dinner we had cake for both #babybigtruck and dads birthdays!

Their birthdays are all of 6 days apart!

Sunday rolled around and when we got up we went to the diner for breakfast! Of course #babybigtruck rocked her new dress thanks to Molly.

After breakfast we went back to dads for a bit. Dad and Mr. Big Truck did some last-minute things on the boat and then we packed up to head out.

Sunday afternoon #babybigtruck got to spend some time with her favorite teacher while we went to a retirement party for a good family friend. We wound up deciding to stay at my mom’s house that night since the parade by our house starts at 9:30am and if we weren’t out of the house we would be stuck there till easily 1pm.

Monday morning I got up with #babybigtruck and we went for a 2 mile run. It was my frist time doing a stroller run and let me tell you it was no joke! While we were gone Mr. Big Truck went for bagels. When we got back #babybigruck was sure to share with Grandpa.

We set up the kiddie pool for #babybigtruck and we set up camp for the day.

When we got back we pulled out the kiddie pool and #babybigtruck and I set up camp on the deck for the day. My mom was out in the morning helping her friend so we just relaxed on the deck. When mom got home we put together a little BBQ and #babybigtruck napped again for almost 2 hours! It’s amazing what some fresh air, water, and sun can do to a toddler! After we ate we went for some good old fashion REAL ice cream! It was a hit with #babybigtruck.

Overall it was a great weekend with lot of down time which is exactly what we needed!

  Hugs, Nikki

I absolutely LOVE lake time! I look forward to the summer so much because of it! I much rather sit up by the lake than on the beach any day!

What a fun weekend!! That photo of Baby Big Truck and all of the sauce is absolutely adorable. That’ll make it into a high school yearbook someday 😉
