And just like that it is August. Where has this summer gone? Crazy! It’s been fun and busy which is pretty normal for us.
This past weekend we had swim Saturday morning and then set out for my dads. We were going to a family reunion at a cousin’s house in the Poconos and instead of dad and Molly driving alone and Mr. Big Truck, #babybigtruck and I driving by ourselves we decided we would pile in my dads truck and call it a day.
We left my dads about 2ish and had about an hour drive ahead of us. I figured #babybigtruck would sleep all the way there but she had other plans which included falling asleep about 25 minutes before we got there. Of course. Thankfully that was just enough of a nap for her to make it through the rest of the day. Little miss thing was the hit of the party. She was so good and I am not just saying that because I am her mom. She was so social and went to everyone, mind you she only knew Mr. Big Truck, Grandma, Grandpa and me. She walked around and explored and had a grand old-time. We even got lots of compliments on our matching outfits. It was a really good time catching up with extended family on my dad’s side that we do not get to see all that often.
7:30pm rolled around and I knew we would be playing with fire with her. She typically goes to bed by 7:30pm so I really didn’t know how she would be. I am so so happy to say that she was a total trooper and was sooooo good! She happily played and ran around until about 9:15pm when the fireworks started. I wound up holding her through them and again she was soooo good. This was the first fireworks display she really has been awake for and we were literally right under them and could feel the booms from the explosions. I was half expecting her to freak out and cry but she was fine. She actually watched them and the only time she got even a little bit anxious was at the end when the finale hit. She did not cry but you could tell she was not having the noise. I went inside with her and she was fine. We left right after the fireworks and we got back to my dads about 11:30pm. Needless to say we were all exhausted.
Got to love how we only got 1 photo of the 3 of us and guess who its blurry.
Sunday morning we got up hung around had breakfast and then decided to take a ride to Walmart and Ramsey Outdoors. I figured since we were right there I would run into Walmart and continue my quest for sandals for #babybigtruck. I am SOOOOOOO glad I did because I FOUND THEM! It only took me 4 Walmart’s!
While we were in Ramsey Mr. Big Truck was looking for something specific for one of his guns so #babybigtruck and I roamed around and we found her a hooded Columbia fleece marked down to $30 bucks! I was super excited because Mr. Big Truck and I were just talking about how we have to start picking up things for her for the fall and winter and how I definitely wanted to get her a fleece because I refuse to strap her into her car seat with a winter jacket on. #babybigtruck and I also found our way to the Carter’s which was conveniently right next door to Ramsey and I proceeded to find her some more fall stuff.
After our little shopping adventure we went back to dad and Molly’s had lunch then set out for home. On our way home Mr. Big Truck decided that he was going to do the breaks on the front end of my truck so we picked up the parts and then went to my moms. We also called my mother in law and asked her to come over too. #babybigtruck got to see all her grandparents in one day. That does not happen too often.
When we got to moms #babybigtruck got to play on her swing set and she also got some water play in. She was a happy baby.
