I just wanted to stop in and let you all know I really appreciate all the thoughts, love, support, and prayers! Please know that things are still rough but I am taking life one day at a time and clinging to the fact that God does have a plan. I know I will get through this with his help, the support of family, friends and all your support. While I am not ready to share in detail what I went through I will say that I found myself needing emergency surgery on August 19th. Thankfully I am healing well physically.
Although I am still dealing with everything life continues to move forward and ironically I am happy for that. Life has a way of distracting you and I wont lie it helps to keep my mind busy and that is a good thing for me right now.
Last Wednesday Mr. Big Truck had to go to NYC for his new job. He was getting issued which is GREAT news! I decided I would tag along and I will not lie I am glad I did. It was a much-needed and welcomed distraction from everything. I remember saying to him that day that that was the first day in a week that I had not been in a really dark bad place.
We got up and got our day started and jumped on one of the first ferries to the city. Once we got in we took care of the business we had to take care of and then set off to the Freedom Tower to check out the observation deck.
After the tower we wondered around and then found our way to the Brooklyn Bridge. I had mentioned how walking across it had always been a bucket list thing and we decided we would do it.
We got ourselves something to eat and then we just wandered around downtown. I wish my fitbit was charged and working but since I took it off for surgery I had not charged it or had it on. I’m so curious as to how many steps I did that day and how many miles. Unless we go back and do it again I will never know.
I have also had #babybigtruck to keep me busy and let me just say that feisty almost 16 month old is NON-STOP. Don’t get me wrong I am not complaining at all! I took her to the park one day last week and it was just so peaceful pushing her in the swing. I was able to just decompress and just be in the moment with her.
She has also been very buddy buddy with her 4 legged friend. Those two have been paling around and are seriously two peas in a pod. She is always wanting to help with Rylie be it feeding her, letting her our to go potty, or putting her in her crate when we leave and giving her a cookie. I am so glad she is growing up with a puppy!
This past weekend we went up to my dads at the lake. #babybigtruck and I went up on Thursday evening as Mr. Big Truck was not feeling well and was running a fever. While we were up there #babybigtruck up and made herself at home.
Saturday Mr. Big Truck was feeling somewhat better and made the drive up with his mom for the day. We had made plans to go up that Saturday so we could celebrate his birthday and Molly’s birthday together as the two of them are only 5 days apart. Mr. Big Trucks mom gifted Molly a bottle of wine and Mr. Big Truck decided to take some of the tissue paper and make #babybigtruck a cape.
Every little girl needs a cape!
She also felt a need to make the bottom of the cooler her personal play-pen.
All these thing have been so helpful in keeping my mind busy and off the negative things.
Day by day things are returning to normal or at least what will be our new normal. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it more than we could even tell or show you!
