#babybigtruck Update

Hi friends!

Today I wanted to share so updates on #babybigtruck.

Lets start with school shall we?

Monday I took #babybigtruck to school and one of her little friends moved up to the same room that she is currently in. After I dropped off #babybigtruck and got to work I got a text message from Denise the mom of #babybigtrucks friend Peanut.

Thanks for helping this morning. It was soo cute. After you left #babybigtruck hugged Peanut and they were sitting at the table. Peanut slipped out of the chair and started crying. Then #babybigtruck got mad at the char and dragged it away and started crying. Then Peanut stopped and #babybigtruck stopped and they hugged again.

Talk about proud mama moment!

Tuesday I checked in with Denise again to see how peanut did…

#babybigtruck hugged Peanut this morning. She came running over to her. Peanut shared her cheerios with her this morning.

Love that #babybigtruck is such a good friend already!

I got word today that #babybigtruck is ready to transition into the next class at school. I knew it was coming but I didn’t know exactly when it would happen. She starts her transition on the 15th. I have a feeling she will transition really well seeing how by 7am every morning she is in the classroom that she will be moving up to. She also goes in there if the school needs to make ratios. She already is comfortable with the teachers in that room so I am not worried about her moving up at all.

Yesterday we started with our developmental intervention therapy. I met her therapist in the morning at school and talked with her a little bit before we walked to #babybigtruck room. Once we got to her room we were watching from the hallway and I was trying to stay out of #babybigtrucks sight because I knew as soon as she would have seen me she would have lost her mind and of course once she did see me she did lose her mind. I took Kristine into the room and introduced her to #babybigtruck and thankfully #babybigtruck seemed to take to Kristine right away. Once #babybigtruck was distracted I slipped out so she wouldn’t be upset that I left without her. Kristine texted me after her session and told me that she heard a lot of repeating…or attempts to repeat today. She said that she heard #babybigtruck saying uh oh, ball, dot dot dot, and an attempt to say shake. She also suggested that I get a notebook to keep in #babybigtrucks cubby so she can write me a little blurb after each session so I know what is going on in each session. I really liked that idea and will have the notebook ready for next week!

We have our first meeting with the speech therapist on Saturday. That was supposed to be done at school as well however with the scheduling it looks like we are going to be doing that one at home. I spoke to Linda yesterday and just from talking to her I really like her. I had originally spoke to a different therapist but I was not keen on her after our first conversation and I can honestly say I am glad that one did not work out.

On to the toddler bed transition…

Tuesday night before I went to bed I went to check on #babybigtruck and this is what I found. Can you spot her? Silly girl has seriously 5 blankets in bed with her. We have not had any issues thus far this week with her going to bed. She goes down just like she used to go down in her crib and stays in her bed all night. Thankfully she is sleeping all night as she always has which is great as well! Hopefully things continue like that!

In other news our new favorite word is no.

Typical week night conversation…

Me: #babybigtruck do you want to eat?

#babybigtruck: No!

Me: #babybigtruck do you want to take a bath?

#babybigtruck: No!

Me: #babybigtruck do you want to take a bath?

#babybigtruck: No!

We have also been all about making faces lately.

She has stink face down pat…

She also has cheese face down…

Her new obsession is hiding…

I think that about sums up life with #babybigtruck lately. She is full of energy and is constantly on the go. Seriously this little munchkin is on the go from the minute she gets up in the mornings until the minute she is in bed and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  Hugs, Nikki
