So here we are the Tuesday after vacation and I feel like a new woman. Yesterday was a bit rough as #babybigtruck thought it would be a good idea to start her day at 1:15am. Needless to say Mama was up at 1:15am as well. Not really sure what’s going on there.
So today I wanted to share a bit about our trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Florida. Our adventure began Saturday the 20th with a 8am flight out. #babybigtruck was a trooper through the airport and flight as usual! We started off our flight in a row with some random person and at one point I got up to go to the bathroom and change #babybigtruck and I noticed that there were a few empty rows. I asked one of the flight attendants if we would be able to switch to one of those rows and they were more than willing to accommodate. Kudos to JetBlue. Having an extra seat for #babynigtruck is huge when flying with her. I did not book her a seat as she is under two and I am cheap. Once we got all settled in our new row she sat so nicely with the iPad and all her snacks and ate her way through the entire flight. She bounced between Mr. Big Truck, her seat, and myself but for the oat part she at nicely in her own seat.
We had no real plans set for the week other than hanging out and relaxing. I came to find out that my best friend from high school and her family were also going to be in FL the same exact week that we were gonna be there and ironically enough her parents just recently bought a house legit around the corner from my parents house. We decided that we needed to meet up at a local park one day to let the kids play which we planned for Monday morning I failed and did not take a single picture of them all together. The only other things we planned to do was do dinner with the Florida Mob as we like to call them on Tuesday evening and go to the Palm Beach Zoo which was set for Thursday
Sunday I wasn’t feeling to hot. I was running a fever all day not sure what exactly it was because my parents don’t have a thermometer so I just let it ride its course. Monday I woke up covered in sweat. I also woke up a few time throughout the night soaked in sweat Saturday night into Sunday. Monday evening I finally caved and had my dad take me to the urgent care. Sure enough to I was running a 101.3 fever. They swabbed me for the flu which came back negative thankfully so whatever I had was just a wicked cold that had to run its course. The doctor gave me a z-pack to help fight off whatever kind of infection I had going on. Thankfully Tuesday I started feeling much better. Monday night after I got back from the doctor Mr. Big Truck and I went to dinner alone which was nice considering that don’t happen all that often.
Tuesday we got up and set out for our day we decided to take a ride to Bass Pro Shops as we don’t have close to us at home. While we were there #babybigtruck was infatuated with the gigantic fish tank. Mr. Big Truck enjoyed telling her all about all the different fish in the tank.
After we were done the we stopped for lunch where a certain little toddler thought that Mamas cup was hers.
Then since we were in charge of dessert for Mob dinner we decided to stop at Small Cakes and get plenty of cupcakes for everyone!
The story behind this is back in November 2014 we were in FL for my birthday and I wanted cupcakes to celebrate and Mr. Big Truck went on an hour long expedition to find me some from Small Cakes and they were to die for so now we go back every time.
Thursday my Dad, Mr. Big Truck, #babybigtruck and I set out for the Palm Beach Zoo Molly had a prior commitment so she couldn’t make it plus it would have been too much walking for her right now as she’s getting ready to have knee replacement surgery. The zoo had a nice array of animals and it was just big enough for #babybigtruck not to feel overwhelmed.
We took selfies with a sloth.
And with the flamingos.
Mr. Big Truck told her about the alligator.
And #babybigtruck had a conversation with the tiger. We also got to feed the birds and watch the monkeys play? Overall it was a nice day at the zoo.
When we left we stopped at the outlets so Mr. Big Truck and I could run in and see if we could find ourselves some new Nikes. 20 minutes later we walked out with 3 new pairs. A pair for all of us! Success!
Other than that the rest of the week consists of hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa at their house.
Lots of walks around the neighborhood…
Sidewalk chalk and bubbles on the driveway…
and stickers all over daddy’s leg!
Minus the sickness and some unexpected tooth pain on Mr. Big Trucks half thtlanded him with an emergency dentist visit we had a nice time. Our goal with to relax and spend time with Grandma and Grandpa and at is exactly what we accomplished!
