Weekend Recap

Annnnnnnnd I am back!

Hi friends! Thanks for hanging in with me while I was recovering last week. Man it was rough. I’m still in some pain but thankfully I am getting better day by day.

How about a little weekend recap and getting this blog back to regularly scheduled programing? Sound good? I think yes!

So how was everyone’s weekend? Ours was good. Laid back which was just what we needed after the week we had. Friday night after work we all hung out at home. Mike has been working the 12am to 8am shift last week and this week and its rough on him. I can’t blame him.

Saturday Mike had to work until 4pm so #babybigtruck and I were on our own most of the day. In the morning #babybigtruck and I met up with her little boyfriend at Sky Zone for them to burn off some energy. They absolutely loved it!

I can not wait to go back with Mike and let him jump around with her. I also can not wait to set up the trampoline we got her for her birthday! She is going to love it!

After we jumped I was on the hunt for a birthday cake with Elmo on it for her birthday party. I ran to ACME to see what they had and sadly they had nada! I also looked at BJ’s and Costco. BJ’s does edible images so I am thinking I am gonna try to find an image I like and go there. I also wanna check out the local Stop & Shop and ShopRite and see what they have before I make my final decision. I need to try to get to Stop & Shop and ShopRite this week!

Saturday afternoon I had a much-needed hair appointment with my mama! Man I am so glad I was able to get rid of the gray’s. They were so bad! I also had my stylist chop my hair. I typically keep it long but the ends we getting ratty and split so I told her cut off all the dead stuff. The end result? I love it! I also went a shade lighter than I normally do. I really like the way it came out!

While I was at the salon with my mom Ray was home with #babybigtruck. She was supposed to be napping but Mike mentioned to her on Friday that Papa was coming over on Saturday and that stinker refused to nap because she knew Papa was coming and she didn’t want to miss a second with her Papa. Once I got home and mom and Ray left I started to make dinner. #babybigtruck was in the living room and when I went to check on her I found her like this…

Papa apparently wore her out.

Mike got home about 4:30ish and we all relaxed for the rest of the evening. We were all in bed by 8:30pm.

Sunday morning we got up and set out for church in the morning. I love going to church with my little family. I really cherish the time together just us. #babybigtruck goes to the nursery and plays with her friends while Mike and I get to worship and praise our Lord. It’s such a good time to connect!

After church we went to Costco to do some shopping for #babybigtrucks birthday party. We got a good amount of frozen stuff and the paper stuff that we needed. I have a few more things I need to pick up but won’t and really can not until the day before her party. We took everything to my mom’s house and wound up hanging out there for the rest of the day. It was not our original plan but it worked out.

Mike and the baby went for a walk and had some Daddy/Daughter time while this Mama got to go get a pedicure and get a Target run in solo! I mean really isn’t that what most moms dream of?

Sunday night we went out to dinner with Mom and Ray to celebrate Ray’s birthday. We went to a local hibachi house. The food was delicious and the company was great! While we were there they would do this song and dance with lights to celebrate a birthday and #babybigtruck was not liking that. We were going to do that for Ray’s birthday to but since she was so scared of if we decided not to. After dinner we went back to our house and had cake and presents for Ray which was a hit not only with Ray but #babybigtruck as well!

Another good weekend for the books! This coming weekend is gonna be a blast as Sunday my Mom, #babybigtruck, and I are heading to the city on Sunday to go to American Girl for her birthday! Can’t wait! Just gotta get through this week!

Happy Monday friends!

  Hugs, Nikki

LOVE YOUR HAIR girl!! It’s looks so fresh and fun!! I actually got the kids’ Paw Patrol cake at Wegmans–have you tried there? It was decently priced and everyone said it tasted really good.

SkyZone is the BEST place for kids to burn off their energy. My kids love the place!!!

Stop & Shop in Howell actually has DELISH cakes (and lots of themes to choose from) so I’d check them. I still order their cakes from them and have mom drive it down the day of the party, LOL!!!!!
