Happy Tuesday friends!
So I didn’t make it on yesterday because it was a busy day between #babybigtrucks 2 year well visit and our 6 hour car ride upstate. Alas we made it and I have to say we made great time and #babybigtruck did awesome in the truck the entire ride! I won’t lie I was a little nervous at first with the ride and how she would do but she totally surprised me. We left right from her doctor appointment at 10:30am and by 11:15am she was out. She slept for about an hour and then she was up the rest of the trip. Thankfully I packed lots of snacks and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for her to hold her over. My original plan was to go about 3 hours and stop for a bit and then finish out the ride. I wound up pushing her almost 4 hours because I couldn’t find a place to stop that was not shady looking. Once we got back on the road I gave her the iPad loaded with some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and she made it through the last 2.5 hours without any issues! Once we got to Jenns we unpacked and set up the air mattress and let the kids run around for a bit and then I put #babybigtruck down about 8:30pm.
But lets rewind shall we? This past weekend was Mother’s Day and it was also #babybigtrucks 2nd birthday. I kicked off the weekend a little early because I took off Friday from work. Thursday night I met up with some friends to go to a paint night.
While it was fun we did not get a lot of instruction as to what to do so I basically had to swing it. For not having any real instruction I think it came out pretty well!
I really like the way Marian’s wedge came out and Kristin’s sneaker. It was fun to see everyones interpretation of the original picture.
Friday I had a to do list a mile long. First and foremost was a massage!
It was a good way to kick off the day. After my massage the endless running around for the remainder of the things I needed to get for #babybigtrucks birthday party. First stop was the grocery store then it was off to BJ’s. After all my running around I went home and unpacked the truck and then I got myself ready for tea and tiaras at #babybigtrucks school for Mother’s Day.
The Mother’s Day celebration was adorable. They had iced tea and cookies for the adults and kids along with a mommy and me craft to do. After school we went home and my mom and Ray stopped by for dinner and to pick up all the stuff that had to go to their house for the party.
Saturday was the party and while the weather was not the best at first we made the best of it. We got to my moms about 11:30/12-ish had some lunch and then set up all the directions and got everything ready. The kids played on the swing set and by midday the sun came out and I was able to break out the ATV and #babybigtruck was super excited about it. She jumped off the swing so fast and was jumping up and down waiting for me to get to her to pick her up.
Sunday was Mother’s Day and when I say we didn’t do a thing all day I mean it. We didn’t even make it to church in the morning because we were so exhausted from the party the day before. We did not get home from my moms until almost 10pm and we all wound up sleeping in until 7:30am which was much-needed and unheard of around here. We wound up lounging in pi’s all day which was nice as it is something we do not get to do all that often. I just realized I did not take a single photo all day. Oops! Michael and I did manage to catch up with some Nashville episodes during nap time which was a plus and
As I said Monday was a long day with traveling and a 2 year well visit for #babybigtruck. She is weighing in at 29 pounds and 8 ounces and is 34.5 inches tall. She is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. We did need to get 1 booster shot and get a finger prick to check her hemoglobin which came back perfect! The doctors said everything looks good and that she is developing as expected which was music to my ears.
And now it is Tuesday and I am sitting at the table with Jenn as all the kids are napping or resting which is a miracle in and of itself.
