Play Dates & Birthday Celebrations

Happy Monday friends! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Ours was nice.

Saturday we had a play date set for #babybigtruck with two of her little friends from school. We all met at a diner and had breakfast and then we went to a local park. The kids got to check out the animals and play on the playground and burn off some energy. It was a good time had by all.

Once we got home Mike and the baby played outside while daddy for a bit while he worked on transplanting his plants.

The bounce house is always a hit!

As is picking “flowers.”

While they were doing that I was inside trying to tie up some loose ends for the birthday party next weekend.

The piñata is ready! I still have some other things I need to do which I will take care of later this week. I swear party planing is never-ending!

Sunday I had plans with my mom to take #babybigtruck to NYC to go to American Girl for lunch and to do some shopping for her doll. We caught the 9:32am train and set of on our adventure. Sadly it was not the best weather for the day but we made the best of it. Once we got to the city we got #babybigtruck set in her stroller with the stroller cover over it to keep her dry and set off walking. She fell asleep in the stroller which worked out perfectly because she was in a good mood for lunch.

Once we got to the store and got settled we did a little shopping. #babybigtruck made out like a stinkin bandit getting all kinds of loot for her doll and herself!

After we were done shopping it was time for lunch! The little cafe is absolutely adorable and the way they have everything set up it flows just nicely! You start off with warm cinnamon buns followed by some fresh veggies with ranch dressing to dip in along with some pigs in a blanket and bruschetta and hummus. You then pick your entrée, I had a grilled chicken caesar salad, my mom had a grilled chicken cobb sandwich and #babybigtruck had bitty bites of hotdogs with french fries. Dessert was chocolate pudding and little cupcake which was to die for. When they brought out dessert they put a little candle in the cupcake and sang Happy Birthday to #babybigtruck which she was not too thrilled about. Saturday should be interesting.

While you are eating if you brought a doll with you they give you a high chair for your doll to sit at the table with and you also get a little cup and saucer for the doll. #babybigtruck got a kick out of that and had to make sure that dolly had her food, drink, and napkin. She was so attentive to dolly.

After we were done eating we packed up and set out. We stopped at the Michael Kors which just so happened to be across the street and Mama and my mom did some shopping. I found a pair of shoes that I really liked that will go perfectly with capris and shorts for the spring and summer! I call that a success!

We set out for the train station, with a pit stop for a pretzel, and caught the 4:07pm train home and called it a day.

Overall it was a great weekend with friends and celebrating #babybigtrucks birthday! Next weekend we have her birthday party which I am looking forward to! Hope y’all had a great weekend as well!

  Hugs, Nikki

Ya know even though the weather wasn’t the best we made the best of it! Thankfully our walk back to the train station the rain had stopped so we only had to walk in the rain one way!
