Recently I have come across an article that really hit home and it got me thinking about my Mama Tribe. We Need Our Mama Tribes.
My Mama Tribe is the best! I have a core group of Mama’s that I connect with daily and honestly I would be lost without them. When any one of us have a question kid related or not we know we can reach out to each other and ask. We also keep each other accountable for other things like workout and steps which is always a good thing! We constantly cheer each other on and cheer each other up.
My Mama Tribe gets it when I shoot out a message saying I’m exhausted. Or that I am having a bad day. We are also there to help when one of us has a question about something. We can be ourselves with each other which is great. We don’t have to worry about having our hair and makeup looking on point or even having an outfit that matches on.
In my Mama tribe we talk about poop. We talk about life. We talk about our need for wine. We talk about our need for 20 minutes of alone time. We talk about the dread “Day Care” phone call. When one of our kids get sick we know and half expect our own kid to get sick and we are more than okay with that. I would trust anyone in my Mama tribe with #babybigtruck in a heartbeat. I know she would be taken care of the way I take care of her.
After spending time with any of the ladies in my Mama tribe I feel like a new mama myself even when our kids are running around like crazy. Something about connecting with a fellow mama and just getting each other. We talk about everything and anything that comes to mind. Feeling like a failure as a mom? Mama Tribe is there to remind you that you are doing a great job and that you are most definitely not a failure. We absolutely lean on each other for all different things.
As I was writing this I asked my core Mama Tribe if they had anything to say about our Mama Tribe and Brooke put it perfectly! “I don’t have a lot of family locally that I can lean on. Personally it’s a life saver having a group of mommy friends to go to.” How true?!? I on the other hand do have a lot of family locally but at the same time it’s nice to lean on someone who is not a family member. But now I wouldn’t hesitate to call my Mama Tribe family because really that’s what these women have become to me. Family.
