4th of July Weekend 2016

Hello and happy Tuesday friends!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend filled with friends and family! Our weekend was jam packed with all kinds of parties, BBQ’s and fun.

Friday started off with dinner out after picking up #babybigtruck from school. Mike met us at Kona Grill and we enjoyed each others company and just relaxed.

Saturday we started off our day with a family walk and some playground time while we had a house showing. I put #babybigtruck down for a nap early as we had our nieces 1st birthday party to go to in the afternoon. The part was huge and everyone had a great time. There were yard games, a commercial sized bounce house and lots of people there. #babybigtruck had a ball playing in the bounce house all day long!

#babybigtruck loves when Mike throws her up in the air. Erin, my sister-in-law- had a piñata at the party. It’s always a good idea to give a 2 year old a wooden stick to swing around right? #babybigtruck was in heaven as 2 out of 3 sets of grand parents were at the party. Mike got to visit with his uncle and we even managed to snap a photo of all the boys with their uncle together! After the party Mike and I took #babybigytruck to my moms for the night as we had a long morning ahead of us at church the next day. My mom and Ray took her out to New Hope to go on a train ride which I have not heard the end of just yet.

Sunday morning Mike and I got up and like I said we had a super long morning ahead of us. I had to be at church early to set out fliers for VBS and then myself and Daniela had to do announcements with our pastor for both services. We actually attended the first service and then Mike did nursery for the second service while Daniela and I got ready for our VBS and child safety training meeting and did some other VBS things that needed to get done. Mike and I did not end up leaving church till 2:30pm. As we were leaving my Dad and Molly called and said they were about 30 minutes from our house and wanted to stop by for a bit on their way home. We ran to my moms picked up #babybigtruck and then ran home to visit with them. After they left we set out for Old Navy so Mike could get some new shorts and I also picked up some new pi’s and a new bathing suit for #babybigtruck. We ended the day with dinner with my mom and were in bed by 9pm.

Monday morning we went out to breakfast just the 3 of us as we had not had a chance to do any grocery shopping yet. After breakfast we finally did the grocery shopping and then went home for a while. #babybigtruck took a nap I went for a walk and Mike hung out at home. After nap time we packed up and went to my moms house and with mom and Ray went to yet another holiday BBQ. My moms neighbor has a 4th of July BBQ every year and we typically always go. #babybigtruck got to play in the pool for a bit and ran around the lawn like a crazy person.

I had to change her and after I did we ended up just hanging out on the towel for a bit. She thought it was the best thing in the world that Mama was using her as a pillow and she decided she would play with my hair. After the BBQ we went back to my moms #babybigtruck had a bath and got ready for bed and we went home and called it a night.

It was a long, fun, exhausting weekend. This next weekend we have a full plate again but some of it depends on the weather. I have a ton of things I need to get done this week and as per the norm not a whole heck of a lot of time to do it. Thankfully I have a husband who is willing to help and somehow between the two of us everything always gets done!

  Hugs, Nikki

Looks like a fun weekend – but what does VBS stand for?

It was a crazy fun weekend! VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. It’s a week long daily program our church and many churchs for that matter do ever summer.
