Well friends do I have a surprise for you today!
Wanna know whats fun? Finding out you are pregnant when you do not expect it. Ya know what else is a surprise? When you find out that not only are you pregnant but you are 21 weeks pregnant! Ya know more than half way through the entire pregnancy!
Yup you read that right! #babybigtruck2 is due in the fall!
To say that we are shocked is a total understatement! I only found out on Thursday July 21st at my doctor. I had no clue I was pregnant at all!
We are beyond happy and overjoyed with the news. For those of you who do not know back in August of 2015 I suffered an ectopic pregnancy. Then in November of 2015 I had a cyst rupture and had to have emergency surgery for that as well. After that we were told that I would probably only get pregnant by IVF or some other fertility treatments. At that point I had done 2 rounds of clomid and called it a day. I had two terrible reactions to it and was not going to do that again. I also had decided that I was not going to put my body through IVF. Michael was on board with my decisions.
We settled into our minds that we were a family of 3 and went about our lives. We prayed daily for wisdom and for direction and for Gods will to be done in our family. We prayed that if it were Gods will for our family to be more than the 3 of us that He would bless us with another child. Here we are nearly a year later and we finally have a super clear answer to our prayers.
Thursday I went to the doctor for what I thought was a routine check up. He asked me some questions about my cycle -which is not regular to begin with- and how I was feeling and after my doctor did his exam he said that I felt like I was pregnant. Then he said that if he had to go by just the way it felt that he would say I was between 15 and 20 weeks. My mind was blown. He took out the doppler and sure enough there was a strong heartbeat! I lost it. He wanted to get me in for a quick ultrasound to make sure that everything was ok with the baby as I did not know I was pregnant and he wanted to try to get a measurement to get a better idea of how far along I was.
I was taken to the ultrasound room and as soon as he put the wand on my belly sure enough there was a full blow baby in my belly. I saw both legs, both arms, the heart beating and the head. The baby was moving around and very active. By the quick measurement that was taken of the baby’s head it was determined that I was 21 weeks pregnant. Stunned I walked out of the room and to the reception desk to make my next appointment for Monday at 2pm.
After taking some time to let the news set in at the doctor’s office the doctor and I got to talking and they are going to treat this as a high risk pregnancy because of my delivery with #babybigtruck. I will deliver somewhere between 37 and 38 weeks and I will have a scheduled c-section. I go to the doctor today for a pregnancy appointment and to get some more specific answers.
So yeah SURPRISE!
