Finding My New Normal

So I have been home a week and a half now and I am still trying to find my new normal. So far I am getting into somewhat of a good routine. I know it is not going to last forever because as soon as #babybigtruck2 arrives everything is going to be up in the air again. As of now though things are going as smooth as possible.

Typically #babybigtruck is up anywhere between 5am and 7am. The mornings she is up at 5am I want to hide but typically she will climb into bed with me and lay with me while she drinks her milk and watches some Disney Junior until about 6am when I get up. Once I get up for the morning I typically get her and I some breakfast and take a few minutes to sit with my planner and jot down all the things I want to accomplish for the day. Some days like yesterday we are on the run all day with doctor appointments and play dates and others we have just a few little errands to run and then kick it at home. I try not to over schedule us on any given day as I know it can be a bit much for both of us.

Yesterday for instance, #babybigtruck had a dentist appointment in the morning and then I took her to Daniela’s house so she could play with Isabel while I went to the dentist then we went home. She didn’t get her normal nap and wound up falling asleep in the truck 5 minutes into our drive home. When we got home I pulled her out of the truck and we cuddled on the couch for a bit. I know the days for her and I are numbered so I am trying to enjoy all the little moments like this before her little world is rocked.

Before I knew it Mike was home and it was dinner time -thanks mom for the pizza!- followed by Bible Study for Mike and I.

Today we only have 1 appointment but we also have to run an errand for a friend who is going away for 10 days. #babybigtruck will probably catch her nap in the truck today and thats okay it happens.

Anyway getting back to my new normal, like I said while I am eating breakfast I try to sit and jot down things I wanna accomplish for the day. Today was mainly things around the house. After breakfast I typically start to tackle my list and try to get as much of it done in the morning as I typically hit a wall in the afternoon.

So far this system seems to be working for me. There are some days I get everything I had written down done and there are days when I get most of the list done. As long as I am accomplishing things everyday I feel good and the house runs smoothly and that is what is important! I also know that this is not going to be how things will go once #babybigtruck2 gets here and I will have to re-evaluate how I go about my day but I will cross that bridge when I get there.

  Hugs, Nikki

Yes I definitely want to enjoy all the snuggles now while I can because I know in just a few short weeks it will all be chaos!
