Life

Hello friends!

I have not forgotten about y’all. Nor have I really had much time to jump on here and blog. But alas here I am today with a life update.

Life is so full right now. We are adjusting to being a family of 4 nicely and things are running as smooth as they possibly can given our situation. #babybigtruck2 is a good little baby who fits in just perfectly. #babybigtruck LOVES her little sister and is just so sweet with her giving her hugs and kisses all day long!

Since we have been home we have had plenty of family time just the 4 of us which I have absolutely loved. #babybigtruck2 and I have settled into a nursing routine and it seems to be going well. I do have to supplement a little at night with some formula but for the most part she is mainly nursing. She is back to her birth weight and probably a little over it at this point which I will know for sure later at our lactation consultation which makes me happy.

Both girls are doing well at night. #babybigtruck has her nights where she wakes up in the middle of the night but that seems to slowly be getting better. We also had a little regression with her going to bed which we expected but that seems to be getting better as well. I hope and pray she gets back to her regular routine soon. #babybigtruck2 is now sleeping in her crib at night too with the exception for when she wakes up to eat then I usually sit in my bed with her until she is done then back to her crib she goes.

Our days are a little unscheduled just yet as we are still trying to get into our regular routine which I have not totally found just yet. Most mornings #babybigtruck and I have some one on one time with #babybigtruck2 sleeps in. Once #babybigtruck2 gets up the cycle of nursing starts so its been a little tougher to really do much other than go to doctor appointments lately. #babybigtruck has been a really good sport for the most part and just hangs out at home and tries to help out as much as possible. If I am changing #babybigtruck2, #babybigtruck is right there to help and throw away the dirty diaper. When I nurse she sits right next to us and tries to help which is rather funny. She also is great at loving on her little sister which is all I can ask for from her.

My Mom and Ray finally got home last weekend and we got to see them and they got to meet their new grand baby. It is safe to say the love her as well.

We can not wait for the rest of our family to meet her which will be in a few weeks since not everyone has their flu shots and since #babybigtruck2 was born so premature we have to protect her as much as possible right now and keep her away from people who have not had their flu shots. We feel bad that not everyone has met her yet but everyone understands and respects our wishes which is important. The last thing we need is her getting sick. Heck #babybigtruck2 and I have not even been to church since we have been home because there are so many people there and there is no way of knowing who has had their flu shots and who hasn’t. Couple more weeks and well be in the clear.

In the off-chance I do not get to get back here before Thanksgiving I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their family.

  Hugs, Nikki

So glad things are going well and you all are settling in nicely. I had premature babies so we kept everyone away for awhile until they were settled in and home for a bit.

How early were your girls? How long did you keep people away? What month did you have them? I am itching to get out of the house and get back to our regular routine including church on Sundays and Awana on Thursdays and I think I may start this week now that she is a solid 4 weeks old. I was thinking I would wear her at church this way people can’t get all up in her face ya know?
