So this past weekend was Mother’s Day as y’all know and it was a fun weekend.
I have to say that it did start off a little rocky though. Friday night Mike was working and I was home with the girls. About midnight #babybigtruck2 woke up to have a bottle and I noticed that the wheeze she had that morning had gotten a little worse. I fed her and then #babybigtruck woke up crying because she wet through her diaper. I got her settled and went back to #babybigtruck2 and in that short period of time her breathing got even worse. I called the nurses line and they could hear her wheezing over the phone so they told me to take her to the ER which I knew was coming.
Normally I would call my Mom to come and stay at the house with #babybigtruck but Mom just recently went on vacation so that wasn’t happening. I called my brother but his phone was off. I called my friend Daniela and she didn’t hear he phone go off so I called my friend Kim and she came right over. Once she got there I was off with #babybigtruck2. We got to the hospital and they brought us right in and got us settled. They gave her a breathing treatment and watched her for an hour and we were on our way home. Thankfully the albuterol treatment was enough. I would have given it to her myself at home but we had just thrown out all the albuterol we had for the nebulizer because it had expired. Oh well. I got back about 4:30am and we crashed hard till 6am when #babybigtruck got up. Needless to say I was one tired mama on Saturday.
Sunday was Mother’s Day and we had a lazy early morning at home. Mike and the girls gifted me a right hand ring with the girls birthstones on it and a new Bible. We got ourselves together and headed out to church. After church we decided to take a ride down the shore to go to the boardwalk. The weather was beautiful. We ended up meeting up with our friends Denise and Anthony and their little girl. We hit up the aquarium and then grabbed something to eat. We noticed the sky getting really dark so we went to the arcade for a bit to let the rain pass and then hit up the rides.
Denise and I were watching the kids and the husbands go on the rides and we were taking photos and we said “Is it Mother’s Day or Father’s Day?” and couldn’t help but laugh. So then we decided to take a selfie because it was in fact Mother’s Day.
By the time we finished the rides the girls were done. We were able to sneak in some family photos before we called it a day and got some ice cream with my brother, his girlfriend and their kids.
Overall it was a great day.
