#babybigtruck is a cheerleader. Yesterday was her first competition and she and her team rocked the mat!
Little back story, we were supposed to go to a competition in Staten Island yesterday but last minute it was canceled and our coaches worked fast to get us in to the competition we needed up at. The only thing was it was a hike to get there. Instead of being 35 to 40 minutes to get to the competition it because an almost 2 hour drive away. Once we knew for sure it was a go Mike and I decided that we would spend the night closer to the venue this way instead of a 4:45am wakeup call to be on the road by 6am to be there by 8am we could get up at our normal 6:30am. Best decision!
Saturday night we got to our hotel about 5pm and settled in and waited for friends to arrive. Once they did we went to dinner together. The poor waitress I think wanted to kill us. 4 adults and 4 kids. Crazy. We were back in our room and lights out by 8:30pm. 6:30am rolled around faster than any of us would’ve liked however we got up and got to work. Well this mama got up and got to work.
First order of business was to get myself dressed and ready. Once I was ready operation straighten #babybigtrucks hair started.
I literally was doing it while she was sleeping and its worked out perfectly! Once she got up I got her dressed and then had to do her hair. The team hairstyle was a bump in front with a HIGH TIGHT pony tail with no flyways and of course their bows. #babybigtruck was pretty good while I did her hair thanks to the iPad. Mike was a big help as well with holding her hair in sections so I could teas and spray it.
We were all ready to go by 7:30am and were on the road to the venue. We got there a little earlier than expected and had to actually wait for them to open the doors. Once we got in I took #babybigtruck to meet the rest of her team got her settled and snapped a quick photo before going to meet Mike, #babybigtruck2, and the rest of our organization.
Once I got back to the stands I was even able to snap a selfie of Mike, #babybigtruck2 and I together!
Our Tiny Titans went on and they rocked the mat! We were so proud of them! They hit their routine way better than everyone expected!
Shortly after they were done with their routine #babybigtruck2 decided she needed to take a much needed nap on Melissa’s lap.
Being our tiny’s are an exhibition team we didn’t place but we were still awarded with a banner to hang at the gym and our girls were so excited about that!
We left just after awards and were home by 3pm if I remember correctly. It was a long day and all the teams in the organization did amazing!
Crusaders took 2nd, Calypsos took 1st, Spartans took 2nd, Gladiators too1st, and our special needs team the Empresses brought the entire crowd to their feet! Needless to say all of us parents were more than proud of our teams!
